Student Arrested After Stabbing Incident Prompts Lockdown at Lincoln High School

A student has been arrested following a stabbing incident Tuesday, Feb. 17, that led to a lockdown at Lincoln High School in Portland.

Just before 10:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a stabbing near Southwest Main Street and Southwest Broadway. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from stab wounds. Police said the victim was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that appear to be non-life-threatening.

According to authorities, two suspects involved in the stabbing ran into Lincoln High School, located at 1750 Southwest Salmon Street, shortly after the incident. Officers quickly moved in and took both suspects into custody.

As a precaution, the school was placed on lockdown while law enforcement secured the campus and conducted their investigation. Students and staff were directed to remain inside classrooms and designated secure areas during the response.

Officials have urged parents and community members to avoid the area while police complete their work. It remains unclear whether the individuals involved are students at the school.

Police have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the stabbing. The investigation remains ongoing.
