Man Dies After Falling from Highrise in Calgary; Investigation Underway

An investigation is underway after an adult male died Saturday evening in an apparent suicide in Calgary.

According to officials, emergency crews responded to the area near 10th Avenue and Macleod Trail, in the 1100 block of Third Street S.E., following reports that a man had fallen from a highrise building. Authorities say the individual fell from the 15th floor.

First responders located the man at the base of the building in critical condition. He had sustained severe injuries, including significant head and spinal trauma. Paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Calgary Police Service confirmed that the death is being investigated as an apparent suicide. No foul play is suspected at this time.

The incident has deeply affected residents in the downtown community, with many expressing shock and sadness over the tragedy. Police have not released the man’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
