Kayla Noel Day and Luke Anthony Daley Arrested in Nancy Guthrie Death

Sheriff Urges Public to Avoid Spreading Unverified Claims

Developments continue in the investigation surrounding the disappearance and death of Nancy Guthrie, as law enforcement addresses recent arrests and widespread online speculation.

According to records, Kayla Day was arrested around 11 p.m. on February 12, 2026. One day later, on February 13, a SWAT team detained Luke Anthony Daley at a residence connected to the investigation. Authorities have confirmed that multiple vehicles have been towed from the property, including a second vehicle removed following the SWAT operation.

Law enforcement has not publicly detailed the specific charges against Day or Daley, nor have they formally linked the arrests to any conclusive findings in the broader case.

Sheriff Clears Guthrie Family

Sheriff Chris Nanos of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department has publicly cleared the Guthrie family of involvement in Nancy Guthrie’s January 31 disappearance. Nancy Guthrie, a Tucson resident and mother of Savannah Guthrie, vanished following a family dinner earlier this year.

Nanos stated that the family — including Tommaso Cioni, Annie Guthrie, siblings, and spouses — has been fully cooperative with investigators. He described online suggestions that relatives were uncooperative or involved as “wrong” and “cruel,” emphasizing that the family should be viewed as victims.

Authorities have stressed that speculation circulating online has complicated the investigation and caused additional pain for those close to the case.

Unverified Online Claims

In recent days, social media posts have circulated claims suggesting a possible familial connection between Kayla Noel Day and Nancy Guthrie. Some unverified reports allege that Day may be related to the Guthrie family and linked to a gray Range Rover that was seized near the residence.

However, law enforcement has not confirmed any such relationship. Officials have cautioned against drawing conclusions based on unverified online commentary.

Investigators previously confirmed that a glove discovered near the scene appears consistent with one worn by a masked individual captured on surveillance footage tampering with Nancy Guthrie’s doorbell camera hours before she disappeared. The glove has been submitted for DNA analysis by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Authorities have also acknowledged the challenges posed by high-profile cases, particularly when misinformation spreads rapidly online. A $100,000 reward remains in place for information that leads to a resolution, though officials have warned that complex investigations can take significant time.

Ongoing Investigation

At this stage, law enforcement has not announced formal conclusions regarding motive or definitive links between those recently arrested and the broader case. Investigators continue to process forensic evidence, including DNA testing, vehicle analysis, and digital records.

Officials are urging the public to rely on verified statements from law enforcement rather than social media speculation as the case moves forward.
